Rosa

Serpent of the Black Bloom

Rosa moves quietly, with the deliberate grace of someone used to being overlooked. When she speaks, it is in careful, searching questions, measured and exacting. She does not seek attention, yet it gathers around her regardless. Her craft mirrors that restraint. Potions and enchantments are prepared with disciplined precision, blending Thavnairian toxins and Eastern geomancy into a salvemaker’s art meant to linger, not announce itself. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is excessive. She is the last heir of an eastern alchemical lineage whose rites were never meant to survive exposure. The tradition is gone, scattered beyond recovery. What remains follows Rosa in subtler ways: an unspoken culpability, constant and unresolved. Her past surfaces only in pauses, in what she leaves unsaid. In solitude, she allows herself small deviations. Rosa sometimes weaves floral corsages, handling petals with the same care she gives her more dangerous work. They serve no purpose. She makes them anyway. Beauty, chosen where bitterness would be easier. How close she allows others to come is uncertain. Some secrets demand a price. Others are content to remain untouched.

At First Glance

Appearence

Rosa is slender and supple, built of long lines and easy balance. Her movements are unhurried, each step measured, hips swaying with quiet confidence beneath silken garments that drape rather than constrain. The fabric follows her breath and motion, soft against her frame, offering no resistance and little concealment. Her tail trails behind her in smooth, sinuous arcs, more suggestion than statement, like ink drawn slowly across parchment. Nothing about her posture suggests haste. She moves as though the world will wait.Dark hair frames her face in clean, deliberate lines, falling close like the hood of a poised cobra. Pale skin, near porcelain in tone, throws her eyes into sharp relief. They are a deep plum, ringed faintly in an unnatural green that catches the light at odd angles. Her gaze rests in half-lidded calm, watchful and difficult to read. When the light strikes just right, a trace of violet shadow sharpens her eyes further, applied with the care of someone accustomed to precision. At her throat rests a single ornate seal, worked from delicate metal and etched with interlocking geometries too exact to be decorative alone. Whether it is a keepsake, a remnant of lineage, or something more functional is unclear. Rosa offers no explanation, and none is easily guessed.

Bearing

Rosa does not make entrances. She appears quietly, as if the space itself has shifted to accommodate her.She does not demand attention, but she draws it all the same. There is an ease to the way she moves, unhurried and controlled, each motion flowing into the next with deliberate calm. Silk through water is the impression she leaves behind, not dramatic, not abrupt, but unmistakably intentional. Her voice follows suit. It is low and smooth, touched with a restrained sweetness that never quite masks the bitterness beneath. She speaks sparingly, weighing her words with care, offering only what serves her purpose. Nothing extraneous. Nothing wasted. In conversation, Rosa prefers the margins. She listens more than she speaks, asking questions that feel casual until their shape becomes clear. Each one tightens the focus, guiding the exchange without ever overtly steering it. When her attention settles, it does so fully, patient and precise. Her silences carry weight. They are not pauses, but spaces deliberately left open. Those who linger long enough may notice the cracks in that stillness. A glance held just a moment too long. A breath released as though something inside has shifted. There is memory there, restrained but not erased, surfacing only in the smallest tells. A trace of longing, quickly contained, like smoke thinning as soon as it rises.

Entanglements

Rosa follows knowledge, unanswered questions, and the need to survive. She rarely seeks others out, but when paths cross through study, shared silence, or half-buried memories, it is intentional. These encounters are never incidental, and they always leave consequences behind.

  • Serpents Know Secrets: Rosa gathers forbidden knowledge slowly and at cost. Those who traffic in lost lore, poisons, healing, or geomancy may draw her attention, not through chance but through careful inquiry. She trades insight deliberately, never freely.

  • The Bloom and the Bite: To Rosa, beauty and danger are inseparable. She brews poisons and perfumes with the same quiet care. If your work touches medicine, toxins, or aetheric transmutation, expect her interest, calm, intent, and difficult to shake.

  • What Remains of the East: Rosa’s magic bears the marks of a vanished eastern lineage: unfamiliar sigils, obsolete rites, an unusual cadence of spellwork. Veterans, exiles, and scholars may recognize the echoes she carries and awaken memories better left dormant.

  • Wreathed in Stillness: Rosa does not rush conversation. She listens, waits, and watches. Those at ease with silence may find a steady presence in her. Those who fill every pause may find her attention unsettling, as if every word is being weighed.

  • Corsages, Not Concoctions: In private, Rosa braids flowers for no purpose beyond preservation. Speak to her of flowers, offer one freely, or ask after their meaning, and her reserve may falter briefly, just long enough to matter.

  • Tested and Found Wanting: Rosa studies as though preparing for a judgment that has not yet come. She rarely speaks of failure, but it follows her closely. Those shaped by regret or survival may find her easy to sit beside, even if she remains difficult to know.

OOC Details

About Me

Hello!I’ve been roleplaying across chat rooms, MMOs, and tabletop RPGs for nearly two decades. In that time, I’ve explored countless stories and characters, experiencing just about everything imaginable in this hobby. It takes a lot to surprise or unsettle me, so don’t worry about stepping too far—just keep it fun and respectful! That said, I would like to list some things to keep in mind:

What I am Seeking

  • Character-driven scenes where both sides can peel back layers: quiet tension, sharp wit, and meaningful silences as much as action or drama.

  • Long-term storytelling that lets characters change naturally—growing closer, pulling away, making mistakes, forging strange bonds.

  • Mutual exploration of Rosa’s complexities—her tenderness, her quiet guilt, her unsettling grace—and whatever your character might reveal in turn.

  • Collaborative plotting: I love weaving arcs, entanglements, secrets, and serendipities. Bring your ideas; I’ll bring mine. Let’s tangle threads together.

  • Gameplay and RP together: Dailies, trials, extremes, or casual runs are all welcome. Adventuring side-by-side can spark the best stories.

What I am Avoiding

  • Excessive lorebend/break: FF14's setting is very broad and open to a great deal of character concepts and stories, but I find it hard to reconcile character continuity with characters who deviate too far off the setting's baseline.

  • Excessively grimdark themes or permanent harm/death without significant discussion.

  • Conflating IC/OOC interactions—Rosa’s bluntness doesn’t reflect my OOC demeanor!
